On May 7th, the INCIRCULAR consortium gathered in Brussels for a key milestone in the project’s journey—its Mid-Term Review Meeting with the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).
Hosted in the heart of the European quarter, the meeting brought together project partners and our Project Officer, Caterina Verde, for an in-depth discussion of the progress made during the first half of the project. The goal: to reflect on achievements, validate the project’s direction, and align on strategic priorities for the road ahead.
Demonstrating impact and ensuring alignment with EU
The meeting provided an overview of the actual status of the project and the internal coordination. Each partner responsible for different areas of the project presented updates on the main activities with a strong focus on the technical developments achieved on the lifecycle of plastics through innovative circular solutions. Insightful feedback from reviewers helped sharpen our focus, ensuring that the project remains aligned with both technical goals and policy priorities and reinforced the spirit of transparency and trust between the consortium and the European Commission.
Recognising Excellence in Communication
A particular highlight was the recognition of the project’s communication and dissemination efforts, which were positively noted by the Project Officer. As INCIRCULAR continues to grow its footprint in the EU innovation landscape, visibility and stakeholder engagement remain core priorities. The project also presented an overview of future actions aimed at increasing the project’s visibility and impact.
Looking Ahead
The session evaluated the project’s progress, deliverables and pilots, while also exploring ways to accelerate the industrial uptake of INCIRCULAR results.
The meeting in Brussels marked a pivotal moment for INCIRCULAR. With strong foundations and a committed partnership, the project is well-positioned to deliver on its vision of a more sustainable and circular future for plastics in Europe.
