On September 12th, 2024, the INCIRCULAR project successfully organized a networking event in Lyon (Villeurbanne), France, under the theme “A Circular Future with Plastics: Fostering EU Project Synergies”. The event featured a two-part format, beginning with presentations from EU-funded “sister” projects in the plastics and circular economy sectors, followed by an engaging panel discussion with the invited participants.
Recognizing that sustainability in the plastics sector requires more than just technological innovation, INCIRCULAR brought together like-minded projects to foster collaboration and create synergies. By referring to these projects as “sister projects”, INCIRCULAR emphasized the close connections and shared vision that unite them in their efforts. This approach is based on the mutual understanding that true progress in the circular economy can only be made through collective action, knowledge exchange, and a unified commitment to common goals.
In this spirit, INCIRCULAR had the pleasure of hosting an emulation session in the beautiful city of Lyon, the heart of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region. The event brought together four remarkable EU-funded projects, each excelling in its unique domain – be it technological, digital, or educational. Despite their diverse focuses, they all share a common goal: working toward a future where plastics are fully integrated into a circular economy.
The event aimed to explore shared challenges, exchange insights, and deepen the understanding of each project’s work. Most importantly, it aimed to strengthen the synergies between the projects, emphasizing that collaboration and mutual support are paramount for driving meaningful progress in the sector.
The program also included a visit to Axel’One Campus, an open-innovation platform, dedicated to innovative processes and advanced materials where the attendees had the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and innovations in the field of circular economy and environment.
