INCIRCULAR project will organise an emulation session in Slovenia on April 10th, 2025. Under the title “The role of manufacturing industry in the transition to the circular plastic economy: focus on SMEs”. This session will take place within the framework of TECOS Tool-Making Day 2025 and the International Industrial Fair, two key events focused on the future of toolmaking and manufacturing industries and their transition toward Industry 5.0.
INCIRCULAR—INtegrating Cybernated Innovation to Raise the Scale of Circular Units Looping Allied Regions—is a three-year project launched in October 2023, co-funded by the European Union’s Interregional Innovation Investments (i3) instrument.
The mission of INCIRCULAR is to enhance collaboration within the recycled plastics industry sector, aiming to improve its capabilities and promote the transformation of recycled plastics into new materials through the adoption of innovative technologies.
As the demand for sustainable solutions grows, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are key drivers in shaping the future of the manufacturing sector, material innovation, and circular business models. The INCIRCULAR project will bring together European SMEs in the plastics and manufacturing sector to explore the opportunities, challenges, strategies and incentives for supporting SMEs in transitioning to a circular plastic economy.
The Emulation Session will provide a practical and forward-thinking space for SMEs, policymakers, and industry experts to come together to exchange expert knowledge, real business experiences and strategic guidance to help small manufacturing businesses enhance competitiveness in the transition to a circular plastic economy. Through the session participants will explore how SMEs can effectively integrate circular value chains, benefit from emerging policies and funding opportunities in the sector, and adopt best practices for sustainable growth.
